Another La Nina and too much rain at the end of season started an outbreak of Botrytis.
Both varieties were beyond making a table wine so why not hang it out and make a sweet wine.
I am so happy with the outcome! It has a beautiful rich aroma of citrus and tropical with a marmalade edge. The palate has richness, weight and texture tasting of all those fruits with sweetness that dissipates quickly as the lovely acidity takes over and delivers the longest finish.
This is a really versatile wine, a table wine with spicy foods , an aperitif with ice and a slice of orange, a desert wine with fruit based dishes.
I served it recently with a Mediterranean boiled orange cake with ice cream, it worked so well!
It will age beautifully. As always our wines are suitable for vegans.
